Bella Vista Arkansas - White Goods Pick Up

It's White Goods Pick Up time again!

We are blessed to live in a great community which offers its residents, twice yearly, the opportunity to place large appliances out on the curb for the trash service to haul away.  Click on the You Tube link below and check out this video which gives more details and who to call to set up this service for the Spring pick up!

Easter traditions make a house a home.

Celebrating holidays, no matter how big or small, make a house a home.

Easter was always an event at my home as I grew up.  Easter weekend always started with the dying of Easter eggs.  As a kid, we didn't have the fancy dye kits that my children use today.  It was good old-fashioned food dye and vinegar.  My cousins and I always colored designs on our eggs with crayons before we dunked and twirled our eggs and fingers in those wonderful cups of color.  Once it was all dry, we played the rest of the day taking turns hiding the eggs and finding them.

Although I don't remember my community hosting organized Easter Egg Hunts, attending Easter Egg Hunts is an added tradition in my household.  Bella Vista has several events coming up.

On Saturday, March 21st, 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM the First United Methodist Church is hosting a Pancake breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt, for children through 6th grade.  Pancakes will be served 8:30 - 11:00.  There is no set price-donations requested.  The Easter Egg hunt begins at 9:30 for Toddlers, 10:00 for Pre-K and K, 10:30 for 1st-3rd grades, and the 4h - 6th grades will have a scavenger hunt beginning at 10:45.  The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures.

On Saturday, April 4th, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM the Property Owners Association is hosting its annual Easter Egg Hunt.  The Easter Egg hunt will begin promptly at 10:00 AM and is open to children 12 and younger.  More than 15,000 plastic eggs will be filled with candy and prizes.  Children will also have the change to visit and have their photo made with the Easter Bunny from 10:00 - 10:45 AM.  A carnival with children's activities, such as bean bag tosses and face painting, will follow the Easter Egg hunt and conclude at 11:30 AM.  Free tickets to the carnival are required and can be picked up from Riordan Hall.  Tickets are limited and will be given on a first come, first served basis.

As Easter morning arrived in my childhood, I was always excited to see if the Easter Bunny had visited.  And, of course, the basket he left was filled with candy, eggs, and baked goods.  Usually he left a trail of foot prints, which I now realize were made of flour.  This tradition I have passed on to my own children.

My family always attended Easter Sunrise Service.  Due to the beauty of watching the sun rise over the mountains, this was the service I enjoyed the most all year long.

If you are looking for an Easter Sunrise Service in Bella Vista, On Sunday April 5th from 7:00-8:00 AM, The First United Methodist Church will be hosting a Service at the Metfield Clubhouse.

Easter afternoons were filled with a huge family dinner to celebrate the day.  My Mother made sure I had lasting memories of Easter.  I have taken her traditions and added to them with my own children.  I hope when they look back in years to come that they can say the same of me as I say of my Mother...  The Easter traditions made our house a home.
